Five-year integrated family health program launched in four states
Hawassa, January 12 (WIC) – The Ethiopian Integrated Family Health Program announced that it
budget. The program is aimed at scaling up
maternal and child health services in Amhara, Tigray, Oromia and SNNP states.
Speaking at a consultative forum organized here to introduce the program, Child Health and Nutrition Consultant of the program, Dr. Hailemariam Legese said the program would be carried out jointly by the governments of the
United States of America and Ethiopia.
Dr. Hailemariam said

In addition, the
program is a comprehensive package that will support the health sector development and health extension programs of the country.
According to Dr. Hailemariam, the fund for execution of the program that amounts over half a billion birr would be covered by the
United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Pathfinder International and John Snow Inc. (JSI).
Activities carried out under the integrated family health programs over the past 10 years have yielded encouraging results, he said.
More than 100 representatives of government and non-governmental organizations are attending the three-day long consultative forum, it was learnt.
