Fireman jailed for storing drugs

A part-time firefighter who stored cocaine and cannabis worth about £115,000 in his home in Inverclyde has been jailed for four and a half years.
Alan Brown, 32, admitted the offence at his home in Glamis Drive, Greenock, in April last year.
The High Court in Glasgow heard how the Brown had agreed to store the drugs, which were recovered during a police raid, for a payment of more than £100.
The Crown accepted a not guilty plea from Brown’s partner, Jo-Anne Hepburn.
Judge Lady Dorrian told Brown: “The role you took is important to maintaining the supply of illegal drugs.
“Given the quantity of cocaine and cannabis involved if it had not been for your early plea of guilty, I would have jailed you for six years.”
