Drugs, gun, cash seized in weekend arrests
NEW BEDFORD — Narcotics police seized drugs and a loaded handgun and arrested three individuals during a weekend raid in the West End.
Police executing a search warrant Saturday at 87 Parker St. seized 3.5 grams of heroin, 22 grams of marijuana, a .380 handgun with ammunition, $1,000 in cash, two digital scales and packaging materials, according to court records.
Arrested were Christopher J. Garzon, 29, Tia M. Rosa, 27, and Jonathan L. Rodriguez, 24.
Mr. Garzon and Ms. Rosa were arraigned Monday on charges of distributing heroin and marijuana, and illegally possessing a firearm and ammunition. They were detained pending dangerousness hearings in New Bedford District Court.
Mr. Rodriguez was charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute.
