Price hikes in the forthcoming budget could be good for your health, leading medics have claimed.
Calls have been made for a two euro rise on the price of 20 cigarettes, a 10% increase on taxes on alcohol, and a 20% hike on duties on spirits in the budget. The Faculty of Public Health Medicine of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (RCPI) has also urged Finance Minister Brian Lenihan to reduce the tax consumers pay on low alcoholic drinks.

Suspicious death of Crosby toddler haunts medical personnel, investigators

CROSBY, Texas—In Crosby, the tragic death of 2-year-old Kiley Perkins has plenty of people talking.
For several days, Kiley was in intensive care at Memorial Hermann. Doctors said she was unresponsive.
Tuesday night, she was baptized and taken off life support.
She died just before 10 p.m.
