Investigation needed into E. coli warning delay: hospital president

The president of Windsor Regional Hospital in southwestern Ontario is demanding an investigation into delays in warning his hospital about possible E. coli contamination in lettuce served to patients.
Michigan Health public health officials issued an alert Sept. 26 over 26 cases of E. coli strain O157:H7 suspected of contaminating lettuce from a distributor in Detroit.

2 arrests in fitness center vehicle burglaries

NORTH PORT – Deputies say they've made a couple arrests so far in a string of recent fitness center vehicle burglaries.
The latest is 24-year-old Ronald Rockafellow of North Port.
Sarasota County deputies say rockafellow went on a shopping spree with credit cards stolen out of a vehicle at the Venice YMCA in August.
A report says almost $1,400 was charged the day the cards were stolen, on everything from gift cards to an X-Box.

China Medical to acquire certain assets from Molecular Diagnostics

), a China-based medical device company, said it will acquire HPV-DNA Biosensor Chip and Surface Plasmon Resonance or SPR-based Analysis System from Molecular Diagnostics Technologies Limited for $345 million in cash.
