Eight percent of Silicon Valley’s 1.7 million residents don’t have health insurance, according to a study released this week. Is that bad news or good news?

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — A second teenager from outside Nebraska has been left at an Omaha hospital under the state’s unique safe-haven law, apparently after his parent flew to the city specifically to abandon him, state officials said Monday.
A 13-year-old Michigan boy was left at Creighton University Medical Center between 1:30 a.m. and 2 a.m. Monday, said Nebraska Health and Human Services spokeswoman Kathie Osterman.

NEW YORK (Associated Press) – Forest Laboratories Inc. and Cypress Bioscience Inc. said Monday the Food and Drug Administration will delay reviewing their application for a prospective fibromylagia drug, but has not given a reason or timeline.

Department of Pediatrics received a grant to participate in the National Institutes of Health’s National Children’s Study, an effort to investigate the interaction of genes and the environment on health.
