2 arraigned on charges of possession of drugs

BUCYRUS — Two people were arraigned Monday in Crawford County Common Pleas Court in connection with a $1,320 heroin bust.
Russell D. Bond, 49, 1718 Marion Road, Apt. B, entered a plea of not guilty to one count of possession of drugs, a fourth-degree felony. He faces up to 18 months in prison and a $5,000 fine if convicted. Bond is being held at the Crawford County Justice Center on a $10,000 bond set by Judge Russ Wiseman.

Judge won’t throw out drugs evidence for Abraham

A judge today refused to toss out as evidence a bag full of drugs that police seized when they arrested Nathaniel Abraham on charges of drug trafficking.
Oakland County Circuit Judge Daniel O’Brien ruled that police were within their rights to remove a purple velvet Crown Royal bag they spotted in the trunk of Abraham’s car when they approached him at a gas station on Perry Street in Pontiac late the night of May 30.

FDA Insists They Conducted Review Of BPA Thoroughly

Washington (SmartAboutHealth) – The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has come out and defended their review of the chemical bisphenol A (BPA) in plastic products.

Grey Base Hospital reopens after scare

Greymouth’s Grey Base Hospital has been reopened for surgery after a superbug scare forced its operating theatres to close last week.
Surgeries at the hospital were suspended on Friday after a visiting clinician tested positive for the antibiotic-resistant bug.
West Coast District Health Board spokesman Bryan Jamieson says all operating theatres have been swabbed, cleaned and swabbed again.
