San Bruno man's killer to go to state hospital

SAN BRUNO, Calif.—A judge has ruled that a 28-year-old man who fatally stabbed a stranger as he walked down the street should be hospitalized rather than incarcerated.
Earlier this year, Brandon Louis Gill of King City pleaded guilty to second-degree murder for stabbing to death Romero Lansang in March 2004.

Body of unidentified man washes ashore on San Francisco beach

The San Francisco medical examiner’s office is asking for the public’s help to identify the remains of a middle-aged man whose body washed ashore on Ocean Beach on Saturday.
A jogger discovered the body floating in the surf line near Ortega Street at about 8 a.m. Saturday, according to the medical examiner’s office.

Dallas police officer injured in crash during high-speed chase

A Dallas police officer is being treated at Baylor University Medical Center for leg injuries after his squad car crashed into a tree during a high-speed chase that ended in Pleasant Grove.
The officer’s name was not immediately released, but his injuries are not expected to be life-threatening, said Dallas police spokesman Gerardo Monreal.
