A woman claiming to be the mother of a 13-year-old metro Detroit boy abandoned him at a Nebraska hospital early Monday under the state’s safe haven law. He is the second child from outside Nebraska to be abandoned there and one of 18 overall since the law was signed in February.

The AFL is tightening its drug policy, with chief executive officer Andrew Demetriou saying the league has the right to change the result of matches retrospectively if they have evidence the result has been affected by drugs.
