A hospital is to review its security policy after a patient was able to shoot himself dead on a ward.
The man, thought to be aged 63, had a firearm on a ward for 28 people at Northampton General.
Other patients were reportedly just a few feet away when the shot rang out.
Hospital bosses are meeting to discuss the incident but say their procedures are in line with NHS hospitals throughout the country.

The federal Food and Drug Administration is preparing a new statement on the safety of BPA that is expected to be completed this month.
