– Three new physicians have joined the medical staff of WestCare Health System, working with WNC Hospitalists at Harris Regional Hospital.

Introgen Takes a Hit on FDA's Refusal to Review Gene Therapy.

Shares of Introgen Therapeutics Inc. plummeted 38.7 percent Tuesday after the firm said the FDA refused to accept the biologics license application for its gene therapy Advexin as a treatment of recurrent, refractory head and neck cancer.
The Austin, Texas-based company’s stock (NASDAQ:INGN) lost 36 cents, to close at 57 cents.

Welsh pop star Duffy will star in a series of television advertisements for Diet Coke.
She recently signed a six-figure deal for the campaign, to be launched in Britain next year.

Teacher encourages fitness for kids

Physical education was a relatively new concept to Margaret Beuter growing up on a farm near Holbrook.
