Yoghurt bacteria in Swansea trial to fight hospital bugs

PIONEERING trials using cheap food supplements to combat a potentially fatal hospital bug could have a global significance, it was claimed yesterday.
The 1.2m Swansea University trial will see up to 3,000 patients tested to discover whether probiotics, which are often found in yoghurts, can prevent Clostridium difficile (C.difficile).
