Paterno out of hospital

Joe Paterno was released from Mount Nittany Medical Center Tuesday following hip replacement surgery Sunday.
Paterno, the 81-year-old Penn State football coach, was reported to no longer be experiencing hip-related pain and will continue his rehabilitation at home.
Penn State said in a release that Paterno has been working on bowl preparations while in the hospital and will evaluate his team’s 49-18 over Michigan State this past Saturday.

NY Boy On Life Support in DC Dies

, who had been at the hospital in Northwest Washington with brain cancer since June 1, was buried near his home in Brooklyn yesterday after a funeral, said the family’s attorney, Jeffrey I. Zuckerman.

I-80 road rage incident lands 2 drivers in hospital

that hospitalized two men Wednesday afternoon.
Road, a blue Chevy sedan and a gray or light-brown older model Chevy Celebrity were driving aggressively toward each other while in the westbound lanes. The driver of the Chevy Celebrity then pulled in front of the blue Chevy and slammed on the brakes, causing the sedan to lose control and swerve into the path of a semi-truck.

FDA: Lack of state staffers threatens shellfish safety

Nine of the shellfisheries section’s 31 full-time positions are now vacant, including the post of section chief and lead biologist, according to the DEC. The unit tests waters to certify whether they are clean enough for the safe harvest of shellfish by commercial and recreational fishermen.
