A teenager was transported to Cabell Huntington Hospital Sunday afternoon after she was struck by a Ford Mustang at 9th Avenue and 5th Street.
The accident happened about 3:40 p.m.

At least 30 people were killed when fire engulfed homes in a shanty town in the Pakistani port city of Karachi, local officials say.
The blaze happened late on Thursday in a northern suburb of the city.
Many of those killed were asleep at the time of the fire and struggled to get out, Pakistan’s APP news agency says. At least 20 others were injured.
The fire broke out after a power line fell on to the roof of a hut, local media reports say.

BEIJING (Reuters) – A woman suspected of being infected with bird flu has died in Beijing, the local health bureau said on Tuesday of what would be the first bird flu death in the country in almost a year.
The woman died on Monday. Her age was not known, Xinhua news agency said. There were no other details.

Larger companies nationwide continue to experiment with becoming self-insured, but Minnesota firms may be losing interest in the option, according to a report released Tuesday.

Fitness-minded night owls can now sweat even longer, as Dillon Gym has extended the hours of Stephens Fitness Center. Stephens now closes at 12:45 a.m. Sunday through Friday, an hour later than it has in the past.
