Major crash briefly shuts down Interstate 680 in Danville

A Sig-alert has been canceled and all lanes of Interstate Highway 680 in Danville have been cleared following a major-injury crash earlier today that involved at least three vehicles, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash, which happened shortly after noon on southbound I-680 just south of Greenbrook Drive, appears to have involved a tow truck, a flatbed truck, a car and possibly a fourth vehicle, according to initial reports.

Warning after nurse drugs theft

Police in Glasgow have issued a warning about dangerous drugs after a medical supplies bag was stolen from a nurse’s car in Glasgow.
The bag was taken from the boot of a vehicle in Deaconsbrook sometime between Tuesday and Wednesday.
It was later recovered by police in Newton Mearns but three vials of adrenalin had been taken from it.
Police said the medicine could pose a danger to the public, particularly children.

The U.S. Agency for International Development, or USAID, is providing $6.8 million in assistance to Zimbabwe, where cholera has taken more than 1,100 lives as of December 18th and infected nearly 21,000 people since August.
