Health experts are urging men in their 40s and even younger to have their hearts checked, following the weekend death of former All Black John Drake.
Drake, a television rugby commentator and Herald columnist, collapsed and died of a heart attack at his Mt Maunganui home on Saturday. He was 49.

Hillsdale Elementary School fifth-graders made a pledge to their family and teachers to say no to drugs during their graduation from D.A.R.E. on Friday.

BELLEFONTE, Pa.—Medical devices manufacturer Avail Medical Products is closing its plant in central Pennsylvania by the end of the year, a company official said.
A spokeswoman for Avail in Asheville, N.C., confirmed that the plant in Bellefonte was closing. She said all of the facility’s more than 60 employees were offered other jobs with the company.
