WellTek completes Scoop! Fitness takeover

Orlando-based WellTek said in a release it plans to open 14 new Scoop! Fitness locations over the next 18 months, including one that would serve the Windermere, Bay Hill and Dr. Phillips areas.
Wellington-based Scoop! Fitness has locations in Wellington, Manalapan, Palm Beach Gardens and Palm City. It plans to soon open locations in Boca Raton and Miami.

Toilet paper set afire at Plank Junior High

Rolls of toilet paper inside a downstairs bathroom at Plank Junior High School in Oswego were set on fire around 12:05 p.m. Friday at the school near Wolfs Crossing and Douglas roads, Oswego fire officials said.
There were no injuries, and no details on whether the fire was started by an individual or a group, or whether students or employees were involved, an Oswego police spokesman said.

FDA challenges claims on supplement company's Web sites

A Provo marketer of health supplements has been warned by the federal Food and Drug Administration about claims on its Web sites for alternative medicines that profess to cure users of diseases, “smart bomb” cancer and make AIDS disappear in three days.
The agency sent True Renewal a letter this month advising it that the claims mean its products are defined as drugs and violate the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act.
