FDA to List Drugs of Concern in Public Quarterly Reports

WASHINGTON — Regulators Friday unveiled the first of what will be ongoing quarterly reports listing marketed drugs that are being evaluated for potential safety problems based on adverse events reported to the FDA from prescribers, consumers and manufacturers.
The quarterly reports were mandated last year by Congress under the FDA Amendments Act of 2007.

Ahead of the Bell: FDA experts review antibiotics

Federal health advisers on Wednesday will debate the merits of two experimental antibiotics designed to fight “superbug” bacteria that have grown immune to older drugs.
