Supplement Improves Fitness for Elderly

NORMAN, Okla., Nov. 6 — A simple dietary supplement improved the physical fitness of elderly men and women by about 30%, researchers here said.

Hercules High football player to be released from hospital Monday

A Hercules High School football player was upgraded from fair to stable condition Sunday after sustaining a concussion Friday night, according to Hercules coach Gerald Montgomery.

Baby abandoned at hospital

Police today appealed for help to find a woman who abandoned her baby daughter at a hospital.
The child, aged two to four months, is yet to be identified by detectives.
The baby, named Amy by nurses who are caring for her, was found abandoned in her pushchair on Saturday afternoon at the back of the emergency department of Grantham Hospital in Lincolnshire.
Officers say the child has been well-cared for and are now keen to find her mother.

W.Va. workers take hit on health-care premiums

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – West Virginia workers' health insurance premiums increased four times faster than their wages during the past eight years, according to a report released Wednesday.
For family health-care coverage, an employee's portion of health insurance premiums in West Virginia rose from $1,650 a year on average to more than $2,500 a year – a 50 percent jump.
