Former Taiwan leader interrogated after treatment in hospital

TAIPEI, Nov. 21 (Xinhua) — Former Taiwan leader Chen Shui-bian was interrogated by prosecutors here Friday, a day after being sent back to the Taipei detention center after a hospital stay.
It was the first time he was questioned since being detained last Wednesday. Chen is accused of money laundering and misusing a special fund during his eight years in office. His term ended in May.
Prosecutors did not brief the media about the interrogation.

Aspen hospital expansion goes to council

ASPEN — After more than a month’s hiatus, the Aspen City Council will convene Monday to review a proposal that seeks to nearly quadruple the size of Aspen Valley Hospital.
Hospital officials want to redevelop the existing 75,700-square-foot facility into a two-story building that adds another 214,395 square feet.

Trace Levels of Melamine in Infant Formula Are Safe, FDA Says

Just days after the US Food and Drug Administration found traces of the industrial chemical melamine in some samples of infant formula, the agency wants to assure us that the quantity does not pose any threat to our kids.
