More than 60 percent of low-income Santa Clara County children who received dental insurance from an innovative health program actually went to see a dentist, according to a study released Thursday.
And 44 percent of them had a cavity filled or another problem fixed.
By comparison, only 22 percent of low-income children without insurance went to see a dentist and only 16 percent received treatment, the study found.

Beaches Community Healthcare, a Sulzbacher Center Clinic, is opening Monday in Jacksonville Beach.
The clinic, located at 850 6th Ave. S., will offer primary medical, dental and mental health services to uninsured residents of the Beaches whose family income is at or below 200 percent of the area poverty level. For example, a family of four could earn up to $38,000 a year and still qualify.

Most students enrolled in Marshall University know there is a new fitness center opening in February but don’t know what the facility will offer.
