MADISON, Wis. – A national magazine has named Madison the
No. 1 place in American for men, while a second magazine names the
city No. 8 in the U.S. for women.

Deputy Subdues Man Wielding Machete At Hospital

LAKELAND, Fla. – A Polk County sheriff’s deputy who just wrapped up her training is being called a hero after she subdued a man who was wielding a machete inside a local hospital.
Deputy Kimberly Tuck, 22, was sworn in last October.
Tuck was off duty and visiting a friend at Lakeland Regional Medical Center Friday night, when a hospital security guard came running for help.

Committee explores adding outdoor water park to fitness center

Cresco, Iowa -
A group of Cresco residents have formed a committee to explore the possibility of opening an outdoor water park in Cresco.
The proposed water park would be located on the west side of the Cresco Fitness Center. It could include amenities such as water slides, water guns, dump buckets, pooling water, a lazy river and a sunbathing area.

When kids wheeze, steroids don't help – studies

BOSTON, Jan 21 (Reuters) – Giving steroids to children who
are wheezing because of viral or other infections does not
help, researchers reported on Wednesday.
And an experimental treatment designed to prevent wheezing
may be effective, but it seems to pose too many risks to be
recommended, according to studies published in the New England

Break-in reported at home of Falls shooting victim

NIAGARA FALLS — As if Stephanie C. Turk and her family didn’t have enough to worry about after a shooting last weekend that caused her critical injuries, someone broke into her home while she has been hospitalized, city police said Tuesday.
