Mumbai, Sept 14: The x-rays used during CT scan examinations may cause malfunctioning of implanted and external electronic medical devices, a study has said.
The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) had received a few reports regarding adverse events in CT scans that may have interfered with devices such as pacemakers, defibrillators, neurostimulators and implanted or externally worn drug infusion pumps, it said.

Brighton YMCA receives $10,000 from health centre
The Brighton branch of the Northumberland Family YMCA received a substantial birthday present this year. The Brighton Y, which opened its doors five years ago Oct. 7, received a cheque for $10,000 from the Brighton Health Services Centre (BHSC).

TEXAS CITY Mainland Medical Center closed its doors Saturday at 4 p.m. after water service was unavailable in the area.
Beth Burbridge, a spokeswoman for the hospital, said 55 patients would be evacuated to sister facilities, and it could be five days to two weeks before the facility reopens.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – A 7-year-old boy playing with matches set
himself on fire and ran a block engulfed in flames before he was
