Bill seeks proper labeling of PVC products

MANILA, Philippines -
Wary of its possible harmful effects, a lawmaker filed a bill requiring the proper labeling of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) products, especially those found in hospitals.
House Bill 4968 filed by Caloocan Rep. Mary Mitzi Cajayon echoes the warning from Health Care Without Harm, an international coalition of hospitals and health care systems.

Student Health Center responds to meningitis concerns

Three students from the University of Pennsylvania have recently been diagnosed with meningitis.
Upon investigation, the contraction of the infection was discovered to be linked to a Penn Greek Life event; each of the students attended a fraternity rush party held during the weekend of Feb. 6-8, 2009.
The University of Pennsylvania’s response to the issue was to cancel campus parties in an effort to stop the spread of the virus.

Standoff Continues at Conway Hospital, No Injuries

CONWAY, S.C. (AP) – A standoff continues at Conway Medical Center today, where an armed man drove his car to the emergency room entrance and refused to move the vehicle.
