RIYADH: Smokers in the Kingdom will have to pay an increased premium for their health insurance policies, Health Minister Hamad Al-Manie said yesterday, while spelling out a series of measures to be undertaken by his ministry to discourage smoking.
The minister has directed insurance companies to categorize between smokers and nonsmokers, and to impose an additional premium for smokers since they fall in a high-risk class.

St. Cloud Regional Medical Center has broken ground on a $5.5 million expansion that will add a total of 12,600 square feet to its surgical and ER departments.

A conditional use permit for a fitness gym and sports medicine clinic in a building at the Edwards Homes Professional Center at 3640 S. Highway 160, was approved by the Pahrump Regional Planning Commission Wednesday.

— A Hicksville Magic shop owner is under arrest after Narcotics detectives discovered he was selling cocaine and marijuana at the store.
Nassau County Police say 58-year-old Philip Piacentini was charged with five felony drug charges.
