Martez Wilson was in stable condition at an Urbana hospital after being stabbed early Friday during an incident outside a Champaign bar, police said.
Wilson, a standout linebacker from Simeon who just completed his sophomore season, is expected to make a full recovery, university officials said.

Drugs seized in Findlay, one man arrested
More than $75,000 worth of marijuana was seized and a McComb, Ohio, man was arrested Friday by agents from the Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation and detectives of the Hancock County METRICH Drug Enforcement Unit who executed a search warrant on a Findlay home.

The 2008-09 season’s first case of influenza has been confirmed in a 39-year-old Chisago County man, the Minnesota Department of Health said today.
The man’s A (H1) strain of the virus was a “good match” for this year’s vaccine, the health department said. This marks the official start of Minnesota’s flu season.
Influenza activity in Minnesota usually peaks in February, although cases can occur as late as May.
