Great health is not a guarantee, but taking the right steps to living a healthy life makes for a better life. That was the message of the first health fair held at Northwoods Elementary School.
Eve Reddic, the school’s family liaison, organized the health fair for students and their families.

Carbon monoxide poisoning sent five people to the hospital Saturday evening, after a generator at the Bibleway Church of God in Christ caused dangerous levels of the gas to fill the building.

FDA Requires More Disclosure of Bug-Based Colorings

The Food and Drug Administration has released a final rule requiring that foods and cosmetics that contain insect-based colorings, called carmine or cochineal extract, list these by name on labels.

It’s official: The flu is upon us.
City Health Commissioner Donald F. Schwarz said yesterday that confirmed influenza cases have more than doubled over the last week, from 25 to 60, and he encouraged city residents to get immunized. “If you have not gotten a flu shot this season, it is not too late,” Schwarz said.
