Family: Death car was being followed, chased

EVERETT, Wash. – The 18-year-old driver of a car that crashed early Saturday, killing a 15-year-old girl, was not racing but trying to get away from another car that was chasing him, says the driver’s father.
“He just wanted to get away because someone was after him – chasing him,” says Kena Kong, father of 18-year-old Ronnie Kong, after talking with his son in the hospital late Saturday.

Hospital chain to purchase Rockdale Medical

A Tennessee-based hospital chain has agreed to purchase Rockdale Medical Center for $80 million.
LifePoint Hospitals Inc. also will invest $30 million in new capital in the Conyers hospital over the next six years as part of the agreement.
The 138-bed Rockdale Medical has looked for a buyer since 2006. A deal with another company, Signature Hospital Corp., fell through this summer.

Curves fitness has new owners

Jody and Jim Kubiak have taken over operation of the Curves fitness center in the Outpost Circle at Exit 4 on Interstate 94.
The Kubiaks moved to Hudson a year ago to be near their daughter and her family. Jim is a self-employed management consultant.
There has been a Curves at the Outpost Circle business center for the past five years.
