Free medical clinic set to open this month

A proposed free medical clinic for McDowell County is getting closer to becoming a reality.
Shirley Killough, executive director of God’s Country Thrift Store & Outreach Center, said the new clinic is set to open its doors sometime later this month in a section of the McDowell County Health Department.

'World's Fattest Man' to Marry After Massive Diet

MONTERREY, Mexico —  Manuel Uribe, the world’s heaviest man according to the Guinness World Records, will wed his longtime girlfriend this month.
Uribe said he would wed Claudia Solis on Oct. 26 in Monterrey, Mexico.
The two, who met in 2004, will marry in a civil ceremony at a location yet to be decided. Uribe is unable to leave his bed and any outing involves hoisting it onto the back of a truck.
