Police have seized cannabis resin worth between £8,000 and £9,000 which they believed was headed for Orkney.
Northern Constabulary’s road crime unit, with the help of a police dog, found the drugs in a car that officers stopped on the A9 near Inverness.
A 30 year-old man from Orkney was arrested. The seizure was made on Thursday afternoon.
Police said a white powder found with the cannabis has been sent for analysis.

condition at a hospital after being stabbed during a confrontation
with a man who authorities say was emotionally disturbed.
Police say one of the officers was stabbed in the left eye, but
