Oakland Health care workers plan vote on split

The local represents some 150,000 health care workers in Northern California, including 65,000 long-term-care workers. The parent union for several years has planned to consolidate into one local those workers with long-term-care workers in two other California locals, 521 in San Jose and 6434 in Los Angeles. Environmentalists hail questioning of FDA finding

GE Healthcare, MERS announce joint venture on medical event reporting

Whittier Men's Club Christmas Parade float entry to fight malaria

WHITTIER – The Whittier A.M. International Y’s Men’s Club begins its campaign to raise funds for the RollBack Malaria project with a parade entry in the Whittier Christmas Parade at 10 a.m. Saturday in Uptown Whittier.
The entry will feature four costumed malaria mosquitoes (Ralph Anaya, Don Jenkins, Bob Henke and Chris Hardeman, all Whittier residents and club members) flitting about children who are protected by insecticide infused netting.
