Free housing for junior doctors

All junior doctors training in Wales have been told they can stay free in hospital accommodation until July 2010.
Health Minister Edwina Hart had previously agreed to extend the provision of free on-site housing until summer 2009.
The decision follows medical student protests and discussions between the British Medical Association (BMA) Cymru and university officials.
The BMA said the move would help Wales become a top destination for training.

SEIU takes over Oakland health care union

The president of United Healthcare Workers-West and 100 other elected officers were removed.
SEIU President Andy Stern, in Washington, D.C., ordered that the leadership of the SEIU local be dissolved and he appointed two veteran labor leaders, Eliseo Medina and Davis Regan, as trustees to take over the affairs of United Healthcare Workers-West.

A high-fat diet ups Alzheimer's risk

high fat diet with low amounts of omega 3 fatty acids may increase the risk for
Alzheimer’s disease, according to a team of Universite Laval

Peak Fitness, Attorney General Reach Agreement Over Complaints

WINSTON-SALEM – Peak Fitness health club has reached an agreement with the North Carolina Attorney General’s Office after the AG received around 300 complaints from customers across the state.

Former patient to be wed at hospital

‘I FEEL SO BLESSED’ | At 10, she went to Children’s Memorial for brain surgery. Now, she’s returning to get married there.
