announced Thursday that it has signed a non-binding letter of intent to explore buying Fishermen’s Hospital in the Florida Keys.
(NYSE: HMA). The statement by the nonprofit Baptist said the deal was in negotiation and terms can’t be disclosed.
If the deal closes, it would be Baptist’s second hospital in the Keys. Its 42-bed Mariner’s Hospital is 35 miles north of Fishermen’s.

N.C. regulators have rejected an application by
to build a $25.6 million inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Concord.
The N.C. Division of Health Service Regulation says the medical systems failed to demonstrate a need for the new facility and, in turn, failed to show the project was cost-effective.

DANVERS — The Planning Board has approved two projects that could soon soothe North Shore patients: the Hospice of the North Shore’s eight-bed expansion and a healing garden at the new Mass General/North Shore Center for Outpatient Care.
