Police applicant sues city after breaking leg during fitness test

A Beaumont woman who broke her arm and leg while performing a physical fitness test for the Beaumont Police Department has filed suit against the city.
In order to qualify as a patrol officer for the Beaumont Police Department, Carla Mattox was forced to undergo the physical fitness test, according to the complaint filed in Jefferson County District Court.
During the March 25 test, Mattox had to run an obstacle course, the suit states.

Sequoia district to match Redwood City hospital's fundraising

Study Shows A Vegan Diet And Exercise Fights Aging

Boston (ChattahBox) – According to a new study published in the journal Lancet Oncology, people can prevent aging and get their own fountain of youth with a vegan diet and regular exercise.

NJ hospital system cutting 180 jobs

DENVILLE, N.J. – A
hospital system is
eliminating 180 jobs, citing the strain of the national economic
downturn.
Denville-based Saint Clare’s Health Systems said Wednesday that
100 workers are being laid off immediately and another 80 full-time
positions would be eliminated in a move to reduce costs and improve
productivity.
Leslie Hirsch, St. Clare’s president and chief executive
officer, said the jobs were eliminated across the four-hospital
system.
