LITTLE ROCK, ARK. — An Arkansas television anchorwoman died Saturday, several days after being found beaten in her home when she didn’t answer her wake-up call, hospital officials said.
Anne Pressly, 26, died at St. Vincent Infirmary Medical Center, hospital spokeswoman Margaret Preston said.
In a statement released by the hospital, Pressly’s parents Guy and Patti Cannady asked for privacy as they grieved their daughter’s death.

A drive to bring cooling therapy to heart attack victims in Palm Beach County is only in the embryonic stage.
But representatives of hospitals used by Palm Beach residents say they are, at least, studying the issue. And St. Mary’s Medical Center is using therapeutic hypothermia for post-cardiac arrest patients.

Akorn Inc. said Wednesday it received Food and Drug Administration approval for a generic version of vancomycin, an antibiotic used against life-threatening infections.
The FDA accepted an abbreviated new drug application for vancomycin in 500-mg and 1-gram vials, and a second application for the drug in 5-gram pharmacy bulk packages, which contain many single doses of the drug.
