Gaza – Ma’an – Eighteen Palestinian patients returned home from Egypt through the Rafah crossing into Gaza on Tuesday evening after having received medical treatment in Egypt.

A top California State Parks official confirmed Wednesday that authorities are investigating a severe hypothermia case at Bonny Doon Beach as a possible fraternity hazing incident.

— A woman who never saw a doctor even though she waited 19 hours with an injury to her right leg in Parkland Memorial Hospital’s emergency department has received a bill from the hospital for $162.

GAZA CITY – A team of Jordanian doctors is in the Gaza Strip to set up a military field hospital to treat Palestinians after Israel’s devastating 3-week offensive.
Hospital director Brig. Zahran Bader says the tent facility will be operating by Tuesday in Gaza City, with 44 beds and 179 doctors and medics. He spoke Monday after entering from Israel.

GALVESTON — A second case of suspected meningitis reported in Galveston County is unrelated to a case in which a 15-year-old died, a health official said today.
A Santa Fe woman in her mid-50s was admitted to the Mainland Medical Center on Thursday with meningitis symptoms, Galveston County Health District spokesman Kurt Koopmann said.

Hudson — The favored site for a hospital in northern Summit County was presented to Council Jan. 21.
