MONDAY, Feb. 23 (HealthDay News) — Cancer patients who research their disease on the Internet and in other media are more likely to get the latest treatments from their doctors, a new study suggests.
Although studies have found that about 40 percent of cancer patients look to the Internet for medical information, it hasn’t been clear just how that information influences their choice of treatments, the researchers noted.

The Vaughan Athletic Center will throw a three-day party next weekend for its third anniversary, but a group of members began their celebration early.
In fact, they got a running start. Last weekend, seven runners from the “Wolf Pack at the VAC” took part in the Chicago Marathon. And they didn’t just finish. They flourished.

MILWAUKEE Kellogg Co. said Monday federal authorities have confirmed that salmonella was found in a single package of its peanut butter crackers, as a Midwestern grocer recalled some of its products because of the scare.
Kellogg had recalled 16 products last week because of the possibility of salmonella contamination.

plunged in afterhours trading Friday after the company said regulators would not make a decision on its respiratory drug until next April at the earliest.

The Detroit RiverFront Conservancy is to announce today that it is receiving a $1-million gift from Wayne County to help pay for programs along the city’s RiverWalk.
Wayne County Executive Robert Ficano said the money is to support the conservancy’s efforts to promote safety and health and wellness programs on the RiverWalk and in the adjoining parks.
