Two Haines City children were seriously injured in a crash Wednesday night in Polk County.
Dominick Kocot, 9, and Xavier Martinez, 8, were airlifted to Arnold Palmer Children’s Hospital. The driver of the 2003 Toyota Corolla they were in, Noemi M. Gamez, 29, of Lake Hamilton, also was seriously injured and was airlifted to Lakeland Regional Medical Center.
The crash occurred about 8:33 p.m. at County Road 546 and Bice Grove Road.

GALVESTON Just hours after opening for the first time since Hurricane Ike, John Sealy Hospital at the University of Texas Medical Branch closed again, citing poor air quality in its operating rooms as the reason.
