Osteoporosis drugs and irregular heartbeat

People who take bisphosphonates, drugs that add mass to deteriorating bones, for prevention or treatment of osteoporosis may be at increased risk for atrial fibrillation, or irregular heartbeats, according to research presented today at a conference of the American College of Chest Physicians.

FDA lifts Boston Scientific's product approval ban

NATICK, Mass. (AP) — Boston Scientific said Wednesday the Food and Drug Administration has lifted some restrictions imposed more than two years due to quality control problems.

Health providers receive tobacco tax money

DENVER – The Colorado Department of Health Care Policy and Financing announced that four health-care organizations serving Larimer and Weld counties have been awarded more than $2.7 million in funds from a 2004 increase in the state’s tax on tobacco sales.

Lack of funding dooms Health Systems Solutions, Emageon deal
