Parents Sue Surgeon, Hospital for Daughter’s Death

OKLAHOMA CITY —  An Edmond couple whose teenage daughter died during surgery are now suing the surgeon, anesthesiologist and the hospital.
Sixteen-year-old Heather Harkness died Sept. 9 during surgery for appendicitis.
An autopsy found she died of blood loss after a carotid artery was cut during the surgery.

New medical school aims at lower-cost education

Medical school is hard to get into and hard to afford.
A new medical school wants to change that — especially for
people born and raised in Pennsylvania.
The Commonwealth Medical College, the nation’s first
new medical school in years, will accept its first class of
60 students in August.
The first classes will be held at Lackawanna College, a

NEW YORK (Reuters) – As layoffs loom and pensions plummet, more people are unrolling their yoga mats and polishing their poses to find flexibility and sanity amid the financial chaos.

Rx drugs, marijuana found, man jailed

A Fairfield man was jailed early Friday after Fairfield police reported finding prescription drugs and marijuana in his home.
James Moses, 28, of Fairfield, was booked at Solano County Jail Friday morning on suspicion of unlawful possession of prescription drugs and marijuana.
