2d Child Dies in Widening Chinese Baby Formula Scandal

BEIJING — China’s Ministry of Health on Monday announced that two babies have died in recent months and 1,253 others have been sickened by contaminated milk powder in a rapidly expanding food safety scandal that became public last week.
More than 340 infants remain hospitalized, including 53 in serious condition.

Injured Ravens rusher leaves hospital

BALTIMORE, Maryland (AFP) — Baltimore Ravens running back Willis McGahee, hospitalized overnight after receiving a jarring hit in a playoff loss, was released on Monday and is expected to make a full recovery.

Police Say 5-Year-Old Tells Them 'Parents Smoke Drugs A Lot'

A 5-year-old boy told police his parents “smoke drugs a lot” during a drug buy.
The boy’s father, Anthony J. Nunez, 33, of Temple Terrace, was held without bail at the Orient Road Jail today on felony child neglect and other charges. Temple Terrace police arrested him Thursday in connection with a drug investigation on Feb. 4, records show.
