and KaBoom!, a national nonprofit organization focused on children, have launched a program to build new playgrounds in Houston communities impacted by Hurricane Ike.
During October, 24 Hour Fitness has pledged to donate $1 from the monthly dues of Houston-area members to KaBoom! to help build the playgrounds. Members of the fitness club are also being invited to donate through an in-club fundraising campaign, with all proceeds going to KaBoom!

The Metra train running from Aurora to Chicago is running 30 minutes behind this morning because of a medical emergency, a Metra spokeswoman said.
BNSF Train #1264 halted at the Route 59 station on Aurora’s far east side around 10:28 a.m. when a passenger requested medical attention, spokeswoman Meg Reile said.

Ugandans are increasingly supporting male circumcision as a way of lowering HIV/Aids risk and up to 62 per cent of the uncircumcised men are considering being circumcised, a new study suggests.
The study, funded by Unaids and conducted by Makerere University in partnership with the Family Health International, an organisation that works to promote reproductive health, showed that support for circumcising boys was even greater than that of men.

The validity of the 40 per cent cut-off marks in entrance exam prescribed by the Medical Council of India (MCI) for Scheduled Tribe students seeking admission to medical and dental colleges would be examined by the Supreme Court.
