FARMINGTON — With the presidential election only days away, a health care executive gave his assessment of what might happen under various scenarios.

St. Lucie County pharmacy technician accused of trafficking

— A technician in a Walgreens pharmacy was arrested Thursday after admitting to stealing about 3,000 painkiller and tranquilizer pills, according to a sheriff’s official and an arrest affidavit released Friday.
Genelle L. Trefelner, 30, of the first block of Virginia Park Boulevard, faces felony charges of trafficking in oxycodone, trafficking in hydrocodone and possession of alprazolam with intent and grand theft.

Director of mental hospital leaving

The director of the troubled state mental hospital in Goldsboro is stepping down at the end of the year.
Jack St. Clair told Cherry Hospital staff in a memo Friday that he is leaving his job on Dec. 31 after three years. Cherry has been under scrutiny for staff assaults on patients and substandard care.
