Panel urges revised warning on facial filler risks

WASHINGTON (AP) — Cosmetic surgery patients who think facial fillers are a magical antidote to aging must be better informed of possible risks, government health advisers said Tuesday.
A panel of independent advisers urged the Food and Drug Administration to revise information for consumers and doctors — called the product label — to include the risk of long lasting reactions such as bumps under the skin, blotches and scars.

Mental hospital chief ‘did not back prison site move’

THE clinical director of the Central Mental Hospital (CMH) has complained that
the government misrepresented him by suggesting he supported its transfer to
the site of the new prison in Thornton Hall, north Dublin.
Harry Kennedy, director of the CMH, wrote to John Moloney, the minister with

SF Health Commission wants fewer budget cuts

Newsom has ordered all city departments to submit midyear cuts to eliminate a deficit that could reach $125 million. The Public Health Department has been told to cut the most because it is the city’s biggest agency, but so far officials have come up with only $17.7 million in savings.

Sky humming with medical branch evacuation
