According to a recent poll by SurveyUSA, the Republican gubernatorial candidate had 49 percent, Democrat Beverly Perdue had 41 percent and Libertarian Mike Munger had 5 percent.

OWENSBORO, KY – Two parents are behind bars after police find drugs and a loaded gun in their house, all with in their children’s reach.
The Owensboro Police Department says they arrested Jason Pitman, 37, and Tina Vance, 30, on Tuesday at their home on Allen Street in Owensboro. Kennesaw employees with health risk factors can avoid a proposed insurance surcharge if they take part in a city-sponsored wellness program.

Van hits group of kids on NYC sidewalk, killing 2
NEW YORK (AP) — Authorities say a van struck at least five children on a sidewalk in New York City’s Chinatown neighborhood, killing two of them.

WOODLAND HILLS, Calif. — The Motion Picture & Television Fund announced Wednesday that it will close its hospital and nursing home by the end of the year.
