Octuplets mum wanted huge family

A Californian single mother of six who recently gave birth to octuplets has spoken for the first time about her desire to have a “huge” family.
In excerpts from a TV interview yet to be broadcast, Nadya Suleman said she wanted to make up for the loneliness she felt growing up as an only child.
The 33-year-old said she tried for years to get pregnant, eventually doing so with in vitro fertilisation (IVF).

Burgeoning layoffs raise health care issues

The number of new jobless claims jumped early this month as mass layoffs continue to take their toll on the economy.
The Labor Department reported that the number of newly unemployed workers seeking benefits rose to 626,000, the highest level since October 1982.

Nyer Medical Q4 net income rises – Update

Tuesday, Nyer Medical Group Inc. (NYER:
) reported that its quarterly net income and revenue increased.
Nyer’s fourth-quarter net income increased to $345,184 or $0.09 per share from $51,521 or $0.02 per share in the year-ago quarter. Quarterly revenues advanced to $18.5 million from $16.8 million in the same quarter last year.
