County agrees to prepare for growth

During its regular meeting Wednesday night, the Otero County Commission discussed plans for a growth study to prepare for the population explosion anticipated at area military bases.

ESCONDIDO — Tatiana Sanchez was 8 centimeters dilated and having rapid contractions as midwife Kelly Walsh coached her along.
“Largo y duramente! Largo y duramente!” Walsh said, urging Sanchez to push her baby out with strong, sustained attempts.

Hospital lawsuit settlement may help tens of thousands of

Resurrection admits no wrongdoing and settled the suit because of “the cost of litigation and the toll it takes internally on an organization,” said Jeannie Frey, senior vice president of legal affairs.

Singer, Actress Eartha Kitt Dead of Colon Cancer at Age 81

Andrew Freedman says Kitt died Thursday of colon cancer and was recently treated at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York.
Eartha Kitt was born Eartha Mae Keith on January 17th, 1927. One of her signature roles, though not perhaps one she aspired to, was on In the 1960s television campy series Batman, where she played Catwoman after Julie Newmar left the role.
