Three health centers in region to share $640000 from state

 

Nearly three-quarters of a million dollars will be distributed among three health centers in southern New Jersey, with senior citizens and women receiving most of the benefits.
The money is part of $5 million being awarded to 16 federally qualified health centers in New Jersey by the state Department of Health and Senior Services. Eight centers are putting the grant money toward services related to prenatal care and women’s health.

Many of the killings are believed to involve either gangs or drugs

At 11:45 p.m., officers with the LAPD’s Southwest Division responded to a shooting in the 2000 block of W. 48th Street near Arlington Street. Investigators said Carrington Henderson, 25, of Los Angeles, was standing in the street when suspects in a mid-sized car or sport utility vehicle shot at him multiple times. Henderson was pronounced dead at a hospital. The killing is believed to be gang-related, police said.
