Primary Health Profit Drops 44% on Acquisition Costs

second-largest health-care company by market value, said first-
half profit fell 44 percent on borrowing costs tied to the
purchase of Symbion Health Ltd.

2 dead, 7 injured in Portland shooting

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — A man opened fire outside an underage nightclub in downtown Portland, killing two girls and injuring seven other people before shooting himself in the head, police said.
Detective Mary Wheat, a spokeswoman for the Portland Police Bureau, said there is no indication the man knew any of the people shot on the sidewalk in front of The Zone nightclub and a neighboring bar late Saturday.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Two Indiana police officers shot in an ambush at a motel last week are recovering at a Kentucky hospital.
