Hospital mobile bans can be eased

Hospitals in England should allow a more liberal use of mobile phones where they do not interfere with equipment or privacy, the government has said.
The updated Department of Health guidance comes five years after technical experts said hospital-wide bans on mobile phones were not needed.

Nigeria widens tests on infant drugs after 28 die

ABUJA (Reuters) – Nigerian health officials on Thursday scrambled to test more children’s drugs after the number of infants killed by tainted teething syrup rose to 28.

Greater availability and an increasing acceptance of generic drugs over pricier, name-brand drugs led to a savings of $369 million by Upstate New Yorkers last year, including $105 million saved in Western New York.
